Windows Vista

Thought I'd blog about something other than what my business plans were and its status!

I'm rather passionate about computers as you can probably tell or may see in time, 'boys and their toys.'
I purchased Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit (yes it's legitimate), fortunately I did not pay the full $700+ I was able to purchase it at a far more affordable price from one of my new wholesalers. :)

I must say its Graphical User Interface or GUI is very attractive (Aero glass is awesome) and even though some will go on and on about OS/X and Linux distro's being far more supreme and what Microsoft has initially copied (heard of Gnome perhaps?).
The previous Start buttons we've seen in older versions of Windows from 3.1 to XP has been replaced by a prettier round 'Orb' style Start button that loses the 'Start' text but includes the Vista flag logo.

The Start menu has been overhauled and in my opinion is now even more user friendly than with prior Windows versions... I also enjoy the new sidebar application (tidbit: I've got it working on XP also ;)) and have found it useful in more ways than one.

I'm still new to Vista Ultimate however it has accommodated my gaming appetite also, supporting Direct X 10, something exclusive to Vista only. New PC games such as Halo 2 and Shadow Run will only work on Windows Vista not to mention other spectacular hits such as Gears of War! So I welcome this and look forward to more DX10 exclusives.
Considering Vista has Duo and Quad Core's in mind you can tell that Vista handles gaming instructions and video encoding instructions far better & faster than with Windows XP. Such games as Supreme Commander, from the same makers of such smash hit RTS games as Total Annihilation are proof of this and DVD authoring tools have in my case ran faster on my same Duo core system with Vista than they did with XP.

Overall I'm ecstatic about it, running on one of Duo Core systems and have found it to be in fact more stable than any other Windows operating system to date, even XP with SP2. This may be due to the fact that Microsoft had this Operating System or O/S; 28 months in Development, 15 Test Releases, 15 months of Technical Testing and 30,000+ technical testers!
News also has it that Vista's first Service pack or SP is in beta testing as you read this! Enthusiasts should remember the boost in performance and stability that SP2 provided for Windows XP, so I definitely welcome a new SP for Vista even though I have had no issues with drivers, new hardware, applications and even games thus far!

Love Vista or hate it, Microsoft has given users such as myself who love their PC gaming and memory intensive encoding applications more with this release, not only does it handle well but she looks beautiful whilst doing it all :)

Thumbs up here.

Cheers.

Another blog on such a nice day!

Here again for another report on my blog :)
Starting to look like spring outside here in Melbourne.

Not all that much to report on today, I have chased up a few insurance companies as I stated I would yesterday. I have found a few more wholesalers for my potential business and will continue to do so further.

Hoping all goes well with my government initiative as I'm just waiting to see how it plays out really.

Now for me to learn a little more about the UI here and try to spice it up a 'lil.

Cheers.

Busy day

Today is going to be one of my busiest days in preparation for my small business.

I had an interview on Friday which was more of an assessment for a government initiative to assist me in getting my own business up on its feet, seems that the lovely lady interviewing me liked my business proposal and stated she'd actually recommend me for the small business course which spans over a period of 7 weeks... This small business course is actually a requirement I must participate and complete to begin starting my own business with some light funding on their behalf.

Things look good but I can never be too sure until they certify that I've been accepted, so for now I will remain in high spirits and chase up some insurance companies who will cover me for goods and public liability...

Keep reading, I'll keep in touch.

Progress...

Things are well considering that I have now found for myself 4 new wholesalers, I'll have to chase up some more as soon as I have some free time on my hands.
As for the actual web UI for my blogspot, I still require to learn more about the functionality and overall usage potential of this all.

I'll keep in touch, so keep reading...

Cheers.

My First Blog

Ok, well this here is my very first blog and here's a little about me and some interests...

I'm 28 years of age, currently unemployed but I'm hoping that will change rather soon. I have extensive knowledge in computers, mainly hardware.

You could say I'm a neo-geek, I am into electronics; HDTV's, latest HD Video formats (HD-DVD/Blu-ray), DVR equipment, Satellite equipment, PC's and other gizmo's such as PDA's etc...
Just like about everybody else I enjoy music, movies, television shows, going out and most importantly $.

My plan is to establish a little business for the time being, building, repairing and upgrading computers. I can build and strip a computer pretty much in my sleep, sound rather confident don't I ;). The assurance pretty much comes from the fact that everyone I've ever assisted in building, repairing or software installing for has advised me to do this as a living, now (even though a 'lil late) I've decided that I should, considering I enjoy this line of work and have been doing this on a hobby level for over 11 years already.
Like everything in life, you don't know what you can achieve unless you try, considering I have a passion for this line of work in my private life already, I see no major complications incorporating this into a professional life whatsoever. Currently I'm on the lookout for hardware wholesalers to buy my goods from so one can clearly see I'm truly commited to the cause, as I progress be sure to read more on it.

The more I get used to blogging and other factors around it the more you'll read from me, right now I need to learn more about the basics and place some eye candy here to make this a 'lil more entertaining and informative.

This is me signing out.
